My inspiration comes from everyday experiences and extensive travels, and I try to convey the mood and feeling of these places and my perception of those memories. I like to show images in an up close and personal way and achieve this through my technique of heavy color layering to create deeply vibrant, detailed and sensual images that move across the canvas with a melodious rhythm.
I am known for my flowers and landscapes because of the intense colors and flowing lines and shapes, but I also paint commissioned portraits on a regular basis. I paint in oil, acrylic, pastel and colored pencil and have studied with Susan Sarback from School of Light and Color in Sacramento, CA, and Craig Srebnik, a portrait and figurative painter from Lake Oswego, OR.
The enjoyment of art for me is seeing the image I have conceived in my mind come to life on paper or canvas and sharing this journey with others.
